So you're against homosexuality. You think it's detestable and an abomination. Everyone has opinions. But please, give me a moment to open your eyes a little.

It hurts when someone calls you names and makes fun of you for your own personal traits. I'm sure you know that. Kids will go as far as taking their own lives because others may ridicule the way they talk or look. Now, if you were in that much pain to the point you wanted to kill yourself, I'm sure you'd give anything to change that trait. But sometimes that trait cannot be changed.

"And I can't change, even if I tried, even if I wanted to."

Imagine being told that the trait you can't change is a sin in the eyes of God himself. How could you live being told that the being who created you hates an inchangable trait of yours? How frustrating would it be knowing that you can't be "cured" or "treated" because it's a natural born trait, and being constantly told how it's wrong for you?

Imagine losing friends over this.

Imagine losing a relationship with your family.

Imagine losing your faith in God.

"Some would rather die than be who they are."

This is what it feels like when you condone homosexuality.

Now, let's look into a different view. You say you love homosexuals, yet you're still trying to find someone of the opposite gender for them or some sort of way to "change their mind".

Imagine being peer pressured into something that you know is not you at all, like dying your hair or changing your style. It can be extremely frustrating. You know that your peer just wants what they think is good for you, but you know that what they want is simply not for you and may even add anxiety to your daily life. In their mind, they're only trying to help you with good intentions. In your mind, you don't know how to say no to your peer and end up stressed out over an attempt to change you by a supposed friend.

"They say you can be cured with some treatment and religion, a man made rewiring of a predisposition."

Love is compassion, caring, and kindness to another. It's being there when someone needs you most. Love is happiness. Enlightenment. The most joyous feeling in the world. Now, why in the world would you be against that?

Love is love.

"Whatever God you believe in, we come from the same one. Strip away the fear, underneath it's all the same love."

Really well said. Brilliant I would say. Thank you for this post. I think everyone needs to know what you are talking about. It hurts to think that some "Christians" don't love people because of some small trait. God says himself that he wants us to love one another. That was one of his commandments to his disciples, and children. It was not, Love one another, unless they are different. It was simply Love one another. Everyone needs to be told what you said. <3
